Mountain View Cabin Rental Asheville NC

Sawyer’s Cabin is an all-wood, custom-built, cozy cabin with 480 square feet of open floor plan and a full kitchen. The cabin is decked out with a two-person hot tub and grill on a semi-closed porch – and other amenities like a large screen TV, washer/dryer, and WiFi. It has a king bed on the main floor and a 100 sq ft sleeping loft/full bed with separate TV. Need more room? Another apartment is a 650 sq ft walk-out basement room with kitchenette, Queen sofa sleeper, a separate room with 2 single fold out beds and large double sink bathroom/shower. It has a separate entrance and is not connected to the main level except with covered steps from the deck. It opens out to a fire pit area. We say sleeps 4 so you can spread out your sleeping but potentially you can sleep up to 6. There is no indoor dining table to gather round so look at all the photos to see if this is a fit.

You’ve heard that Asheville is a lead culinary destination. In 20 minutes you could be sitting in one! Check out (AIR) Asheville’s independently-owned restaurants.

Sawyer’s Cabin is located adjacent to Cloud 9 Farm. With this rental, you get long range mountain views of Little Pisgah, a nice view of the Cloud 9 Farm’s blueberry patch and Peterson pond. Neighboring Cloud 9 Farm will allow you access to a mile of wooded hiking trails, Event Area and Peterson pond that has a picnic area with a waterfall, horse shoes, Bocci ball, and Croquet court – or just stop by the pasture fence to call the spoiled cattle to feed them apples. Use this cabin as a launch pad to head out for hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway, in the Great Smokey Mountains, Pisgah National Forest or the NC Arboretum. So many choices!

The cabin is built on the site of Bob Barnwell’s 1924 homestead where he and his wife, Annie, raised 6 children. Back in the day, he worked a rotary sawmill – hence the name “Sawyer’s Cabin”. We even have some photos the family shared with us! Then, there’s Jeff, the timber-framer, designer and builder of this cabin who is a sawyer, too, with a modern WoodMizer band-sawmill. He sawed and planed all the beautiful beams and framing wood sustainably cut from Cloud 9 Farm timber.
