Walk Among the Mountain Laurels
Among the many things I love about spring here on our precious patch of land in the Blue Ridge Mountains is the blooming of our mountain laurels. This beautiful evergreen shrub sports glossy, sturdy green leaves year-round. In May, vociferous clusters of white and pink, ruffled buds form and unfold into delicate architectural flowers with stunning bright pink dots. We even make decorative accents for our porches out of the twisted laurel sticks and pull handles for our cabinets, too, out of the sticks. Bring your camera! Get some ideas and you can buy from our stock pile of sticks as we clear the mountain trails.
